Event Presentations and Handouts

Colorado's early childhood community is very active. Many meetings and events occur each month, but finding information about these events can be challenging. This website provides a forum for sharing information about recent early childhood committee meetings, as well as a means to provide community access to valuable handouts, power point presentations, and other resource materials used at early childhood events. If you are involved in an early childhood committee or event, we invite you to become a member of this site so that you can upload information on your activities to the Early Childhood Colorado Information Clearinghouse, where it can reach a broad audience.

How do I find out about...

+ The Early Childhood Progress & Possibilities Symposium?
The Early Childhood Progress & Possibilities Symposium was held in Aurora, CO on November 18, 2010. The events presentations and handouts are now available in a table format including the topic, title, description, contact information and websites of the presenters.

+ The Early Learning Community Lecture Series sponsored by MIELL?
The Marsico Institute for Early Learning and Literacy sponsors one to two community lectures per year on varied topics about early learning. We invite nationally-known experts to share their research and experiences with the local early childhood community in Colorado.

Most recently in October 2010, we featured Dr. John Medina, author of Brain Rules for Baby. Please visit the Brain Rules website for more information, chapter summaries and videos. You can also download Practical Tips which are ways to apply the research discussed in Brain Rules for Baby to the real world of parenting.

In April 2010, we featured Dr. Jill Stamm, author of Bright from the Start and Co-Founder of The New Directions Institute. In 2009, we featured Dr. Douglas Clements, a leading authority on early math. His powerpoint can be accessed here.
In 2009, we also featured Dr. Mike Lopez and that powerpoint can be accessed here.
